Yes, it is a scam. DO NOT CALL THEM BACK OR RESPOND IN ANY FASHION. The IRS does not operate that way.

I received three calls yesterday. My daughter answered and they told her they were the irs and they filed a case against me. They actually scared my daughter. She called me all upset. There must be something that someone can do to stop this.

Computer voice talking over my answering machine greeting. Bad use of commas in text-to-voice at that. Such a transparent Scam.
