My 85 year-old mother received a voicemail from "Mark Smith" with the IRS (917-267-8575) who had a heavy Indian accent threatening her with arrest because of tax fraud. I told her it was a scam. She is still terribly upset and plans to contact her CPA, in case this is real.
I recieved a call from this number, and they stated I owe the Federal Government back taxes. An arrest warrant would be issued. I told them I would call my Attorney. They said have him call. This is a scare tactic by a bunch of non English Speaking Scam Artists. IRS doesn't work this way. I will now have this number blocked, and report to local authorities.

I just got a call from there saying I owe a bank and threatened for me to be arrested! For one in CA NO creditors can threaten with jail! He kept saying I refused to pay! He said I had two options pay or go to jail! Then hung up saying he would note I refused to pay
I received phone call person saying he was Steve Marshallfrom law enforcement agency investigating my social number and that if I didn't respond I would be arrested I called back said he was in New York. I said that no agency proffessionaly would say that and I would report this number 1-917-267-8575 he then hung up
