This number called. I picked up and said "Hello" several times. The other end was dead. Nothing... 917-391-5920 Caller ID: "VRS"

Called and left no message

They called. I answered. I said, "Hello".  Nothing from them at all. I kept saying, "Hello", over and over. Finally hung up   What kind of scam is this?

Received calls daily for last week at random times.  Today received a call from a person, requesting money for needey vets.  I am a vet, this person was not a vet.  When I informed him that the number called was unlisted and demanded to know how they got my number, he refused to provide any info.  Only that it was in his listing.

I received a text message from the number about Jim Carey (spelled exactly like that) is in New York. And it's awesom and it's not true. (Not sure what it means)
