THREE calls within 2 hours of each other - seemed to be a recorded message - but, same scenario as the others report on here. Someone claiming that we needed to call the number back for help regarding a federal case of some kind. Used the name Gray - did not sound like an American speaking English!
Same as info as other comments. Knew immediately it was a scam as we have committed no crime and pay our bills on time. I find it peculiar that we just returned from this area in Ohio (937 area code) early yesterday morning. We had left our phone number with the Kettering Hospital as a contact number for a relative hospitalized there--less than 48 hours later we get this call to the same number we had listed. Has anyone else had any dealings with Kettering Hospital or any other medical offices in that area recently? Please post them. Are there any connections here?
It was an automated message, and I took it as an intention to scare me. I called the number back and when they tried to put me on hold, I said, "I can't hold. I've got to go because my dog has a doctor's appointment." The guy who answered the phone had an east Indian accent, and he had my first name.
