called at 11:45. caller id "Venice FL". Rang 6 times and hung up. Same number called 6 months ago.

Wanted to do free energy audit. Told him I was on do not call list. He said he was not soliciting. Told him I was on list because I did not want unsolicited calls. He asked why I had a phone then.
I lost temper with him.

The DNC does not protect you from all unsolicited calls.   To get that protection,  you need to investigate a Call Blocking device.
