This Indian man keeps calling me saying that I paid for a computer tec service, which I did, and he said that the business went out of business, which it did not, and he wants to refund me my money. Ha Ha Ha. I told him to mail me a check. He said that he had to credit my credit card. LOL LOL. I told him, over and over again that if he could not send me a check to forget it. He just will not stop calling my cell. I contacted my tech service and they can't do anything about it. I cannot block the number because I use an older phone, flip, and it will not allow be to block numbers and he uses different phone numbers. When I call the number back a recording comes on that says it has been disconnected.
Since the scammers accessed the computer, they probably did one or more of the following:
• Disabled the anti-virus software
• Added nasty malware to the computer
• Copied the Contact List (so they can spam/email your soon-to-be ex-friends)
• Copied any financial data or passwords they could find
• Compromised your ID
• "Zombied" the computer, so it would respond to THEIR commands sent via internet
• Deleted some important files
• Asked for money to repair the damage they caused
What can you do immediately after such an attack?
1. Pull the cables on the computer, or otherwise disable it, so it cannot access the internet.
2. Change ALL passwords stored on the computer.
3. Run FULL malware scans on the computer, in "SAFE" mode!
4. Change the passwords again, particularly if the malware scans showed anything.
5. Inform your bank and credit card companies.
6. Sign up for credit monitoring, and check the status frequently
7. You may have to bring the computer to a local repair shop, and tell them the story.
8. Tell friends what happened, so they can be aware of strange emails from you.
9. Connect to the internet only AFTER all the above have been done.
10. Change the passwords on all online accounts. Even better - access a "safe", uninfected computer, and chance your online account passwords RIGHT NOW.
NOTE:
If your computer set a "Restore Point" while it was infected, any "System Restore" you make will re-infect your computer. Suggest you delete any potentially infected restore points and avoid setting such restore points until after your computer has been thoroughly cleaned!

Honest computer companies do NOT cold-call people, or cause popups from websites to tell them their computers need fixing!
Some scammers even have websites, and falsely advertise they are associated with popular software packages or computer companies; so do NOT believe a "we will fix your computer remotely" site, and allow them access to your computer!

I also get this call with the same "someone owes you money from closed business." Well the business I hired online I allowed to access my computer and they changed all my email passwords, got into my bank accounts and wired money Thailand, tried to get Paypal for $690. If a payment goes for $700 in Paypal, there is additional paperwork. This "business" has given my number out to many people and I get calls daily from all over but this one especially. The business that stole my money is Pairsys. They are also on Facebook and brag about the money they get. I didn't lose any money since my bank covered everything and fortunately I happened to get into Paypal and stopped that payment. Don't trust anyone online!!!
Did the same to me but he got into my bank act.almost got all my money.If it wasn't for western union he would have.They need to do something about him I have his address.
He scammed me too. Totally messed up my office computer. I did give my credit card number and cvv #, when he wanted driver license # I realized it was a scam. I hung up on him and went to the bank and canceled the card. Then spent the next day with the REAL tech Co fixing the computer. Thank you Kangaroo Techies.
