This Indian man keeps calling me saying that I paid for a computer tec service, which I did, and he said that the business went out of business, which it did not, and he wants to refund me my money. Ha Ha Ha. I told him to mail me a check. He said that he had to credit my credit card. LOL LOL. I told him, over and over again that if he could not send me a check to forget it. He just will not stop calling my cell. I contacted my tech service and they can't do anything about it. I cannot block the number because I use an older phone, flip, and it will not allow be to block numbers and he uses different phone numbers. When I call the number back a recording comes on that says it has been disconnected.
An insidious breed of the most treacherous scammers of the lot. They are bold and in your face using extreme and bizarre tactics. I seldom engage these bottom feeders, and then only to keep current and to find out what new levels they will sink. Case in point, I allowed this ingredient of pond scum to lay out his plan to "fix" my computer and "refund" my so-called payment. Would never fall for any of this, but it is easy to understand how certain people would succumb to his insistent bullying techniques. He wanted me to log in with my computer and give him my credit card data to process my "refund". I told him as politely as I could where he could stick his refund and ended the call. For the next thirty minutes he kept calling, just as fast as I disconnected each attempt at the first ring. Finally left that line off-hook for a couple of hours -- not due to fright -- just plain annoyed with him (and myself). From prior experience and as gleaned from friends -- his subsequent call attempts were not to get the last word in -- it was part of the alternate script -- acting with impunity to ORDER that his instructions be followed. Beware and spread the word to those who might be more susceptible to various forms of blatant intimidation.
(Legal reasons or not, it would be helpful if on the "Call type" drop down list below there was a selection to more loudly sound the alarm. Tags of "Telemarketer" or "Prank call" don't cut it. These are not as simple as annoying calls, they carry the highest potential of being very costly and can become life altering events. Creatures like this one cannot be effectively labeled as a "Telemarketer" nor a "Prank" for call type.)
