Anyone being bothered by these calls, should send a cease and desist letter to IMC along
with a request to remove your number from their internal call list.
The Federal Trade Commission, which operates the Do Not Call Registry, says: A consumer may ask a third-party telemarketer (IMC) calling on behalf of a charitable organization. (NRA) not to receive any more calls from, or on behalf of, that specific charity.
If a third-party telemarketer calls again on behalf of that charity, the telemarketer may be subject to a fine .
These calls should be reported to DNC authorities. IMC is NOT a charity and is subject to the rules.
same thing happened today, asking for a family member by name. hung up om me when I asked to take message. What is disturbing is that he asked by name. I think there are doctor's offices selling names and numbers.
I would really like to know how people come up with idiotic ideas such as "I think there are doctor's offices selling names and numbers" . Specifically with the HIPAA law and the fact that if they did that they would face extremely large fines. I guess you weren't smart enough top search for your own name and then see who was listed as friends and relatives?
