They keep trying to get through to us, but it never works. My guess is they're using a robo-dialer, and said dialer does not like the 'Out of Service (SIT) tone sequence our Asterisk system sends (same thing the old 'Telezapper' did) when it first answers. The dialer's probably hanging up on its own.
Some Googling turned up a possible lead on these slime-suckers at this link.
Received several calls last two days from 954-417-8715. When I tell them they have the wrong number and not to call, they always hang up. I need to make it stop! It is wasting my time and a HUGE aggravation! I know I can go through AT&T and block their number by using parental control but I have to pay for that service monthly (using for an unruly teenager). Any suggestions on how to make it stop?
I assume it was the same crowd that has been calling everyone else. The caller had a very strong Indian accent and asked "Hello am I speaking to the captain" and then immediately hung up. No caller ID information other than the number.
These people have called multiple times looking for the previous owner of my house from 5 and a half years ago!!! I told them to stop calling and they hung up on me!
