They keep trying to get through to us, but it never works. My guess is they're using a robo-dialer, and said dialer does not like the 'Out of Service (SIT) tone sequence our Asterisk system sends (same thing the old 'Telezapper' did) when it first answers. The dialer's probably hanging up on its own.
Some Googling turned up a possible lead on these slime-suckers at this link.
Called to verify business address and name. They will record you saying yes to all these things. Their real intention is to sign you or your buiness up for a reoccuring monthly charge that appears on your telephone bill.
They call me 6 times a day every day of the week.
I finally called verizon to get them to stop.
call verizons unlawful call center 800-257-2969 to report them.
Recd call from same #, called the 'unlawful call center' 800-257-2969- he explained - that immediately after disconnecting from the harrassing call, to dial 'call trace' *57 then call them back, they will set up an account for when you call the local police, then they will investigate it.
may take 3 times before the police will go after them, as Call one and two can be explained as a mistakes, but no one should dial by mistake 3 times. It does cost $1.00 each time you do 'call trace'.
I started keeping track 5 days ago, but I think it's been much longer. They call every day even though I say, please remove this number from your list and do not call again. They always speak with such a heavy accent that I can't understand them anyway.
