We don't even have credit cards. When it asked to push 1 to be transferred to a representative, I did so and simply said, "How do I get removed from your call list?"...they hung up. I called back and got a recording that said, "Thank you for calling back. To be removed from this list press 1 (again) which I did. I do not expect to stop receiving these calls. If anyone knows what I need to do to get them to stop, I'm all over it.
I have a Panasonic KX-TG1062 landline phone which is several years old. It allows you to block up to 30 numbers. There are other makes and models of phones which will also block calls locally. If/when the block list is full, I delete the oldest 10 or 15 numbers to make room for more recent entries. These scammers use many numbers, and seem to abandon most of them after a time. Most of the numbers seem to be "spoofed" -- They are not valid numbers, so if you call back, you either get the three-tone "number not in service" sound or some other sounds, like fast busy, that means your call did not go through.
