I keep receiving calls from 971-220-1783, the caller ID reads "Lower interest rate". The recorded messages gives an option to be removed from the call list by pressing 3. When 3 is pressed the call simply disconnects. I tried this route 3 times. When I received the fourth call, I pressed 1 to speak with a representative to ask to be removed from the call list & when I requested to be removed the representative abruptly hung up on me without responding. This I have done 3 times all with the same curt hang up.
They continue to call because it is a criminal operation. These criminals do not care about the law.
All you have done is verified that yours is a working phone number.
File complaints with your Attorney Generals office and also file with:
http://www.fcc.gov/complaints
https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov
If enough people keep complaining then maybe something will get done.
Write our Congress and Senate. We need CRIMINAL penalties against the companies that are profiting from these calls. Follow the money, slap them in prison, no one left to outsource to overseas boiler rooms, problem solved. Since they are operating across borders it should become a federal felony and should be handled by the FBI under the RICO Act.
I get a call about every 10 days from this number. I have told them to stop calling and that I am on Do Not Call List and man apologized and said he would have number removed. Just received 2 calls this week.
.
Female voice states no problems with your credit, but act now to lower interest rate to 6.9%. Press 3 to stop further calls.
I have pressed 3 twice before from calls originating at 360-474-3908 + 3986.
Called back the number and receive msg to put in phone number to remove calls from their list. Ha-Ha. I didn't put in my number (unlisted and blocked) but heard response number was successfully removed.
Yah, right!
