Hey guys, I got a call from this number a month ago, they told me I had won a cruise. Of course I didn't believe them until I got the tickets in the mail. Well, we just returned from a wonderful, all-expenses paid, Caribbean cruise!!! It was great!!!
(Anyone believe this??? Ha ha ha...I never pick up calls with numbers/caller IDs I don't recognize.)
I'm on the DNC. Honest telemarketers honor the DNC list. So any "telemarketer" who calls me now is probably a CROOK. So I know not to pick up the phone when they ANY telemarketer calls, because they're now all CROOKS!
Sure there are people who violate the DNC. There are people who rob banks too. But that doesn't mean that the government wasted their time making bank robbery illegal. Sure, I wish the Marines would hunt down these crooks who call my phone from offshore. But that's not likely to happen.
The best one can do is understand that the DNC gives you a heads up that a "telemarketer" who calls you after you are on the DNC is probably a CROOK and not a legitimate businessman. CROOKS don't care what the law says. They only care about ROBBING you!

The DNC only causes the HONEST telemarketers to stop calling you. Criminals will continue to call you because they don't care about the law. They are criminals after all. The DNC is your way of KNOWING that any NEW "marketing" calls you now receive are from people who aren't honest. You DEFINITELY DO NOT WANT TO DO BUSINESS WITH THEM for they will RIP YOU OFF!

Just received call from this number, did not answer. Also on DNC list but thank goodness for caller id. They can talk to the answering service forever because I never plan to answer.
got a call from PACTEL 971 220 1967 - did not answer since I didn't recognize number. Have been on DNC list for some time and renewed within the past year!
