I save their number on my cell phone and list their name as "do not answer" warning me who is calling and not to answer the call. The next time they call I don't answer. I have 3 numbers listed on my cell phone with a simular message warning me.
Pass the word it seems to work, I don't answer, they evenually change their number or give it up!
I was thinking yesterday that I hadn't heard from these lower your credit card interest rate scammers for a few weeks and was wondering if the government had actually done something useful and put them out of business (if you can even call what they do business).
Well, I just now got a "second and final notice" call informing me of the opportunity to lower my credit card interest rates. That's kind of incorrect because I've already received literally dozens of "final notice" calls. At least they have updated the call recording a little: the woman on the recording no longer identifies herself as "Rachel", the spoofed phone number is different once again, and the Caller ID name is "PACTEL", which is new.
A little vigilante justice would be appropriate for whomever is orchestrating these repeated invasions of privacy that attempts to rip-off of the more naive and financially challenged among us -- usually using very rude, nasty, and intimidating tactics if you press whatever number it is to talk to a representative. And, it's been going on for well over 5 years now.
Incidentally, I would bet Dwayne (above) that pressing 1 will have no effect on whether or not he receives more calls from them. Some folks have been pressing 1 for years and the calls keep coming.
