Call from Nigel, he basically is doing planning project to promote a handful of vendors for a place locally to pay for advertising for a planning folder for this venue. Asked for email with info. Said he would send and then wanted to know when to follow up with me. Was very nice, but basically trying to get money to advertise.
Got a call from this number around 4 pm on Thursday. Didn't answer. A woman left a voicemail saying her name is Chelsea and she's working on a project for Beyond the Bridal Veil Boutique and looking to feature wedding officiants. She said her extension was 1004. Very vague in terms of "project." I called back the number the next day and it just rang and rang and the voicemail that finally picked up just said "planning folder."
Have gotten calls from similar numbers/similar company names from Olivia, David, and now Kiersten saying they are looking for a wedding planner to help with a project at _______ hotel here in Milwaukee. One of them referenced a local country club as the venue. Basically, as stated earlier, they are trying to get you to pay to advertise in a booklet/magazine the venues keep. When the first person called me, I called the country club to inquire and their PR person assured me they were not affiliated and were not partnered with any such company or product. Definitely a scam.
Got a voicemail from Sarah saying she was working on a "project" for a wedding venue near me, and that she needed a wedding coordinator. Will not call back, now that I see the commonalities throughout this thread.
