They have been calling us at least a couple times per day for months. Since there are already pages of comments here about this phone number, it appears the government is powerless to stop anyone in India from continuing this practice. The 201 area code is in northern New Jersey.
Suggestion: Everyone who recognizes this phone number on their caller id, go ahead and answer the phone, but don't speak. Instead, set the phone down and continue watching TV, fixing dinner, or whatever. Let them talk until they get so tired of nobody talking back that they hang up. Perhaps after awhile, they will become the ones who get discouraged. Just a thought.
I have been getting a recorded call from this number several times a day for months now. I refuse to call back, as the voice instructs, but would love to know how to make it stop!
Whenever I get a call from an indian person saying they're name is "Jack or Sally I tell them if thats teir name my name is "Vishnu" and hang up. Now the collection agencies are farming out overseas. They must be tied to a central Front end here in NJ.
I am receiving calls from 201-210-3618 and they continue to ask for Leon, I have explained to them every day, 4 times a day that this number no longer belongs to Leon and if they could please remove the number from their list, they say ok, but continue to call. They won't tell me which company they represent and they can be rude.
This RUDE and obnoxious starts off calling at 8:15 AM at my house when I'm getting the baby down for his first morning nap and stops at 8:45 PM when I'm trying to get my older 2 kids in bad for school in the morning. They are nasty and rude and hard to understand and work with. EVERYONE in the compay is Indian and I believe they're running their New Jersey based number through an IP phone out of India (you can set up a local number and an 800 number out of whatever country you want...you just pay the costs to have it) and having all calls routed to their company. They're a collectins company attempting to collect a debt my X-husband ran up in my name in 2003 and then didn't pay. Good luck! I'm a BROKE at-home-Mom of 3 kids...I don't have the money to pay them right now, nor would they get it anytime soon if they keep harrassing me!
