I keep getting calls from this number, I have followed their instructions to be removed but they still call. I am on a do not call list, but that has not helped.
I was told by the Phone company for this area code. The calls come from over seas & that the Phone numbers are spoofed.
AKA: Hacked. nothing they can do. because it is NOT, I repeat NOT illegal to spoof a phone number. TIME TO CALL YOUR CONGRESSMAN & SENTOR!
I too keep getting these calls. I don't answer. The caller ID says Bayonne, NJ. To try to find out who these guys are, I called back the number and got a recording that said, "To be removed from our calling list, press any digit". You number will be removed in 8 to 10 days. I pressed "any digit". Let's see if they keep calling or not. I doubt very much if this works. I have not doubt that KP (comments above) is correct. This is probably a spoofed number and actually coming from outside the United States. Guess we're just stuck not answering when we see the number on the Caller ID.
I agree with Gailw and KP. Gail's description is spot on how mine went just 15 mins. ago. I did het the name - American Credit Assistance. When asked where they were located She replied China then "click".
