I live in Ohio and get calls from an outfit in NJ trying to get donations for Ohio policemen and State Troopers. This group wanting donations for firefighters sounds like the same thing. Only about 10% of the money they raise goes to the cause that they tell you about. The other 90% is for "fundraising". Ask them about this when they call. By law, they are supposed to disclose how much actually goes to the designated cause. I'll bet that they have some really nice "office parties", er, I mean, "team building events"!!
