Unprofessional phone call from a man soliciting donations for NJ State, County and Town Police. Said I wasn't interested since I do donate through a family member who is a policeman. He quickly hung up without another word. If it was legitimate, he is not a good representative. Seemed suspicious.
I got the call too! When I get calls like this I register a complaint with the do not call list. Go to www.donotcall.gov. Register your number if not registered already and then file a complaint. Quick and easy to do online.This is one of the ways to try to stop them.
I keep getting calls from this number from quite a few people asking if I would donate to the NJ Police Officers Foundation. I always tell them that I do not donate over the phone--could you mail something to me. They say that the only way that a so-called pledge kit would come to my house would be for me to commit to a pledge over the phone. There is no way I am going to do that! Please send something to me in the mail to look at or I won't do it at all. Please, please, please leave me alone!! Everytime you call me I get real angry. I told you many, many times that I DO NOT DONATE OVER THE PHONE! Just mail it out and then I can do something.
Does anyone here get these type of calls and say that line to them just to get them to stop calling?
My husband has terminal cancer, my 11 year old child has pancreatitis, ive gone thru 2 rounds of treatment for breast cancer; have severe osteoporosis in my spine and have a disabling disease called ankylosing spondylitis. On top of that, my teenage son was run over by an SUV 2 years ago and was badly injured. We dont have a dime, and when the phone rings and someone says its the police, it puts us into a panic.These people are not just Scamming'they are causing real damage, financially and emotionally.im praying that the real police hunt these people down and put them in jail soon.
