I have received calls from 201-266-0022,I didn't pick up so they called one minute later and instead of having unknown name, it had the same number but said new jersey. I've also received calls from 866-228-9162 and 800-214-1299 ALL day. I just keep my ringer off but check it every so often, b/c I've gotten so sick of it, what makes me mad is that this is MY phone number I don't like people calling me who don't need to be having my number.
Call from this number. I did not answer as I don't know anyone in NJ. Did some research online and this is probably a database company verifying that the number is active. When you pick up the phone, nothing will happen because they just want to make sure someone is on the line. If you answer, I suspect you will be getting all sorts of sales calls. There's been some people online who have mentioned after answering they recieved a ton of spam emails.
I think a email to the New Jersey AGs as well as AT&T (their provider)would help to shut them down.
Just got a call from them and 201-340-2125. There is no answer and just goes dead. I get around 5+ solicitors and this crap a day. What are they? There is no point to these calls.
They keep calling but when I answer no one is there and when I call them back the number is temporarily unavailable. I am going to call AT&T and see if they can stop the annoyance.
I got one too. A young woman also (as mentioned above) asking for my military son. He doesn't even live here. She offered me an airline package. I cut her off and told her that I will notify the FCC if they call again...something tells me they will anyway. I also posted on another thread some other numbers this morning as well. I mess with them if I have the time and the inclination. I say things like, "Please,(insert shaky resonance in tone) I have a terminal illness.Don't call again." I actually get a hushed, "Sorry...*click*!" after that one sometimes. Other times, b/c there is always someone listening even on a recorded message, I call them losers. Tell them to back away from the pizza rolls in Mom's freezer and get a real job. Other times I ask them if they are familiar with "God" and can I tell them about him? That really makes them run. I've also tried the opposite..."Do you know "satan"? There's usually a confused pause. Then I ask, "Want to?" Or try asking them to repeat everything they say...or...*YOU* repeat everything they say right after they say it. Well...you get the picture. I know most people don't have the time but when *I* do, I screw with them. Why make their job easier???
