It is a collection agency. I called it back. Could not catch the full name of the company but it does say financial. They also call from 877-857-8690. They will not leave a voicemail in case it's the wrong number or someone else hears the message besides the intended person. Doing so could lead to a privacy lawsuit. You can ask for their address and send a certified letter asking not to be contacted. You can also ask them over the phone but they can later deny having the conversation since it doesn't say all calls are recorded.
It is a collection agency who is calling for "their client" who happens to be another agency. I started paying on a bill with this other agency until I started getting calls from multiple agencies and feeling like I was being scammed. At that point, they refused to mail me a letter regarding the account and told me to "be a man and take out my checkbook".
My original debt was with HSBC and when I called HSBC they have no record of selling my account to either agency.
