Message said it was the "last time" they would be calling to lower my credit card debt. If only! It's a scam to get your card number and now they're using cell phones to initiate their calls. So much for the DNC list.
Contact FTC, US Department of Justice, police in your area and in the caller's area, and the phone companies in your are and in the caller's area. Definitely let the credit card companies know.
Dealing with these calls is simple. First, don't answer any call you don't recognize. Then type the phone number into the search field of your browser. Most times you'll get the lowdown on the number. It's usually crooks, who somehow seem to make a living running scams. I suppose, with such a vast population, there are a lot of suckers.
In the unlikely case that the call does not appear to be a crook, you can return the call. Yeah, it sucks when you can't even answer the freaking phone because of the stinking crooks. So let's not make it easy for the badgering rodents.
I have bveen receiving automated calls from 201-267-5646 stating that this is ur second and final oppurtunity to lower your intrest rates on your current card card, to speak with a representative press one but when a live person answers the phone the say hello a few times to which i reply hello but only wind up getting hung up on
