i welcome this calls
what i do is try to put them on hold and then have them hold as long as i can (my record is over 30 minutes). As soon as i hear discouragement i unmute and ask them for some info and ask them to hold somemore.........
then right about the end i ll give them the local law enforcements phone number and asked them to ........
was called from this number at least 15 times in the last few days. I spoke with THREE different people when I actually answered and was hung up on all three times when I tried to explain that I don't even have a credit card. (The calls are in regard to reducing interest rates). The final call today at 3pm was the one that really has upset me - when I asked to be removed from the list because of not having a card and being bothered during working hours the "lady" on the other end said (exact words here) "I was going to tell you before I realized you were such a f*cking b*tch". I want my number removed from this list before I file a lawsuit.
Katy, I too have been getting unsolicited calls. I am one of "those" people who do not answer calls from phone numbers that I do not recognize. The most recent is the 201-267-5646. The caller left no message. When I tried calling the number it tells me that the person is not available. For two days, the person has not been available! Other times, with other numbers, the voice mail will be full. So they use various tactics so that you can not call them to tell them to remove your number. Sneaky pond scum is one of the ways to describe these scum bags.
I have to admit my ignorance. I thought that by registering with the Federal Do Not Call List that I am "protected" against unwanted calls. I am but only at the Federal level of complaint. I just went into the MO Attorney General web site and am now informed. One needs to be registered at the state level as well. This web site has some very good information regarding the do not call list and consumer rights. smile. I was not registered with the MO Do Not Call List. I am now.
Also the MO Atty. Gen. web site does give you the date that your number will be on the list once it is registered. It also states that one has to be registered for 31 days before a complaint can be filed. I just learned this and wanted to share with you.
Have been receiving calls from this number for a couple of weeks now. I have not been answering because it's a number I don't recognize. Just for S&G's I answered the call 4 days ago by saying, "Tampa Police Department, May I help you?" The lady on the other end apologized all over herself, saying she had the wrong number. I haven't had a call from them since! I think I'm gonna do this on a regular basis! It was soooooooooo much FUN!!!!
