Same thing as Jane (above). They left message saying that they were an unnamed credit card and wanted to lower my rate. Good thing I checked here. I believe a bank needs to disclose its name when calling you.
They have called 3 times today. Once I answered but didn't say a word. You can hear the people in the back, has to be a collection agency or call center.
I get a 5-8 calls from this number a day. No message is left. No one responds when the one I picked up. What do I need to do to have this number to stop calling me?!
It's difficult to give a straight answer until someone provides a business name and/or details on the caller's stated purpose. Excess call abandonment admittedly makes this difficult. Each category of nuisance call -- sales, debt collection, charity, survey -- is covered by unique rules and is handled somewhat differently, assuming the call source is even within your own country.
call the number back and listen to the recording. press #2 to add your phone number to their "do not call" list ... that is what i did just a few minutes ago...hopefully it works.
