"Raise your credit score 175 points in 30 days...erase negative credit history from the three bureaus..." if only improving your credit history were so easy!

Scammers promising wonderful things (many of which are impossible to do) and will soak you to do something you could do yourself. It is nearly impossible to erase poor, but accurate, credit history until the passage of time causes your poor history to disappear. Don't even bother to press 2 to have your number removed from their call list, they'll never bother to remove you, you're on their list forever.

Here is a transcript of this scam credit improvement call:

[cheerful female voice] "Hello. We could help you get a higher credit score in as little as 30 days. The negative items are permanently deleted from the three major bureaus and scores can increase as much as 175 points. Please press 1 for a free consultation now or press 2 to decline this offer and be removed from our list."

Calls but doesn't leave message.  When you call back, you get a recording saying it's a non-working number.

shows up as Bayonne NJ on my caller ID. They left a partial VM. It's a female recording which cut off after 3 words. I live in NJ

Also missed a call from this number.  Left no voicemail.

Got a call. Women recording stating Public Service can raise my utility bills. I hung up
