Whoever this is, is trying to scam you for your credit card information. I recieved a text from them:
US BANK ALERT: Your CARD starting with 4833 has been DEACTIVATED. Please contact us at 201-289-9924.
1) I've never heard of this bank
2) I have no card that has those numbers in them
3) They sent it from a 407 number
4) If they knew anything about cards, they would know that the first four digits help identity what bank you're using.
I just received the following txt message from 201-289-9924:
UTB ALERT: Your CARD has been DEACTIVATED. Please contact us at 407-493-9965.
Only a fool would fall for such an obvious scam. Don't even call back or reply to these messages as that will only confirm to these scammers that you are a potential target. It's best to simply ignore & delete it. If you're being bombarded with these messages, then you should contact your mobile phone provider.
I rec'd the same txt as the others. Txt came from a company called "CenturyTel Acquisition" who owns a bucket of numbers in Michigan. Same txt verbage, deactived card.
