This number called my cellphone & left a voicemail about my 'vehicle warranty that is about to expire'. Considering my vehicle is a 2000 model with 97,000 miles on it, I'm pretty sure my warranty is long gone!! When I googled the number, it came up as belonging to a Luis Santiago in Palisades Park, NJ. I've had the expiring warranty call before, but this is a new number for it.
Missed a call on my cell phone. I didn't recognise the number and I'm on the federal do not call list.
Last time this happened I saw a lot of reports saying the caller was asking for info about their vehicle. Sounds like an auto-theft ring looking for cars to steal.
I just got this call as well. It's one of those car warranty scams; just ignore it. The number is not really the one that appears on your caller ID, they're using a technique called caller ID spoofing (which is actually illegal -- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caller_ID_spoofing), so don't bother calling back.
However, if you want to have some fun with them, you can request to speak with the live agent and give them a hard time or something like that :-). It's actually quite fun...
missed the call. number disconnected. About the Car warrant scam, They probably want you to give them personal information, so they can steal your identity.
