This individual texted me at 3:00 am asking about an item I posted on CL. Went through the same spiel as what most of you have posted here about sending money order and an extra $40 to hold it in his/her favor and asking for my full name and mailing address. The offer to send the extra $40 was the tip off ... not trying to bargain down the price, but actually offering more money? Who does that?
I had same situation. This number said I'm sending cashier check what's your address. Am sending $40 extra for holdinf item. I didn't respond and won't but I wonder how does this person scam? Sends bogus check and comes and picks up the item? Or do they come rob your house? What kind of fraud is this? Thanks!
The buyer can not come but will send his shipper. You are to WIRE money to the shipper ..also the scammer. The check will eventually bounce and you will be out the money you wired (untraceable).
