They can call your relatives friends etc they are considered 3rd party contacts but per FDCPA can only call one time unless 1- given permission to call more than once, or feel they haven given incorrect info- 2 cant disclose any info on the debt- 3 cannot call them if they have good contact info for the consumer...watch this!
I am receiving calls in regard to my brother which I don't even know his phone number. A lady called and said it was a personal business matter and would not say anything other than that.
I received a call for my ex-mother-in-law. Her son and I divorced in 1997! How did they get MY cell number to call for HER? Then they wanted to know if I had any contact information for her. I haven't known contact info for her in well over 10 years....where do these people come from?
