Received a phone call this morning re: the same intro. I knew that this was a scam because our caller ID showed 000-0000-0000. I began to play along and asked him his name, "Adam Peterson," with an East Indian accent. I asked for his number just in case we got disconnected and he gave me, 201-588-3343. I asked him why was my caller ID number displayed as a bunch of zeroes and there was a hesitation and then a hang up. Darn! I wanted to have fun with the guy, but he did not want to play my game. Next time.
Customer came in today, said they got a phone call from Cris Martin at the Technical Department for Windows and that their windows was about to crash. He could fix it, but he needed remote access to their computer. 45 min later he logged off of her computer and had her credit info. This is a scam, run while you can.Scamms INC. (supp
Do you know what this scammer Chris Martin is trying to do? I may have given him access to my computer for a short time. I did not give him passwords of credit card info . But, I am concerned.
I just got a call from this # so I told him that I had to call him back & he gave me the same as all of the rest of the people here. He said his name was William & he sounded like he could have been from India. However, I called the BBB & after he looked it up he told me that I did the right thing by not turning my computer on to let him try to fix it.
Got a call today saying I had some sort of problem with my computer that a notice was sent to Microsoft telling them I had a posible virus and to hit CTRL snd window sign at same time and to key in eventvwr to get it corrected I told him I wanted to check with someone and he gave me this 201-588-3343 to call back doesn't appear to be anyone at that number
Got a call from "Window Service Center" like noted above. He wanted access to my computer to fix viruses he said were coming from my computer. While he was talking I googled Windows Service Center and uncovered his scam. I told him I'd like to call him back later and he gave me this number. My next webpage will be the FBI website.
