I got a call from this number on tuesday during my lunch hour and nobody answered. I recieved calls from this number again on wednesday and thursday, but did not answer because I was in classes. This number called me again today 1/25 @ 4:53 and when I answered and said hello repeatedly, there was no reply. I would like to find you is calling because it's really starting to freak me out.
201-621-5696 is a telemarketer calling for STORES ONLINE !!!
The caller ID indicates calls originate from Hackensack, NJ.
However, the location has yet to be determined. The FCC has rules prohibiting 'Abandoned Calls' or 'War Dailing' tactics being used by the '201-621-5696 telemarketer'. I suggest requesting FCC form 1088D and file a complaint so the FCC can determine whether a violation has occurred that could lead to an enforcement action.
I have done some checking into this number. It is private landline in N.J. I contacted the police in that area code. They said they can only ivestigate this number if they got enough complaints. So PLEASE everyone ....call the police in that earea code an make a complaint.
i called the rutherford police dept, got a very cooperative lt. and they actually dispatched an officer to the address i tracked down online. they called me back and said the office building owner said that allegiance telecom of new jersey, which is what comes up when you id the 201-621-5695,has not been there for over 2 years. which is what these scammers do to make it harder to track down and use reverse technology to locate the origin of the call. lease the office but never actually utilize it just to get the exchange for the number....then have at it! i will hunt down the origin, the place and a person to kick in the nuts for the 100's of calls i hve been getting from them.
See my reply to TechHead. However, if ONLY payback for harassment was legal, I would be the one holding them down, strangling them, while you kicked them in the nuts! Wheee!
Now that I got that off my chest(Whew!), a proper, legal method, which should give everyone satisfaction, is to follow the advice of TechHead.
Oh, and since Caller ID is ubiquitous(for the vocabulary-challenged, that means it's available EVERYWHERE), why not just REFUSE TO ANSWER? Also, most phones have a 'no ring' option. You simply save the number, assign it the 'no ring' as a ringtone, and you will never 'hear' from them again! Ta-Da!
