THat is exactly the messages I am getting on my voicemail. But then they are now calling my in-laws! (Who are NOT happy and have reached out to an attorney).
Yes, they actually knew it wasn't the correct one but they ended up giving me some info anyway. They also mentioned that it was a place called Knox Creditor that were the folks taking me to court. I looked them up and of course there is no such place. They did tell me that I owed $780.00 for a payday loan back in 2009 which is not true.
They called my husband, message was mostly automated and when I called back they were very rude. I asked them to mail to me whatever information they had and they just kept saying I would be arrested if I did not pay TODAY. Who are they? This seems so unreal.
Total scam. Being in ordinary civil debt is not a crime and you cannot be arrested for it. Ignore and block the calls.
Report them:
http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection (Threatening civil proceedings with no intent to follow through, or threatening criminal process in order to collect a civil debt is a violation of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.)
Also contact your local attorney general
If they continue to bother you, and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion. Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved. Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.
You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them. Tell 'em no scammy debt collector is going to push you around.
You have to get tuff with these people because, being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking). the only thing they understand.
i got a phone call from these people about a month ago and was told that if i didnt pay the money i will have to go to court so i told them to send it on this is a scam now today i was served by a man dressed in regular cloths about it and now they wont help me my bal. went from 780.00 to 2876.56 wtf!!

If that is true, you should be able to give us the information at the top of the summons, since it is now "public information".
Give us the court name and location, the name of the judge, the plaintiff's attorney's name and Bar number, and the name of the company or person that is suing you, the date you are supposed to appear, and possibly a docket number.
Can you do that, to prove your statement, or did I ask for too much information?
Well, then, just give us the name and address of the court, and the plaintiff's name. You do not have to tell us your name. That should not be difficult at all. Otherwise, we will have strong evidence you were NOT served, and are fibbing to us, and are probably a shill for the phone number under discussion.
I betcha you can't give us the requested information. You didn't even give the physical and web address of the company that uses this phone number, so we could check their validity.
Do not bother to return and argue these points, unless you can provide the data I requested.
