Called and told my wife I had been talking to them about an internet issue. Clearly a lie. I have no clue who they are, except that reverse lookup shows the number to be related 4238 and is a florist. When I take the phone, they hang up. Something wrong happening here.
these calls started 9-24-09. they keep calling about every 25minutes. they are on the phone right now. i need them to stop. so far they have called fine times.
Much of the information you provide is simply incorrect. Yes, there are some situations where providing a phone number permits an exempted return call, but to say that someone listing someone else's number is legal is just wrong! The so-called "survey" calls are not exempted or excluded from enforcement action UNLESS they neither request nor obtain any personally identifiable information. Your assertion that companies can legally sell, lease or otherwise provide someone's information in the absence of a direct business relationship sounds like something from one of the "devil" telemarketer's training. It is NOT what the law permits. Morally wrong--no question! Illegal--still no question. If you are so ashamed of what you did as a telemarketer, give a call to the FTC, your state police, the state's attorney generals' office, the FCC, or other law enforcement agency. If you're so sure what was done is legal, what do you have to lose? Oh, yeah...there is some of that money you got from the "devil", facing criminal charges and possible prison time, but don't sweat the small stuff.
My suggestion is to report the frauds number to the FTC and then block the number. You should be able to press star something on your phone. Depends on your service provider.
Stop calling me about government grants about sending free this and that with a fee of $2 something (shipping). I believe it is a scam to get your credit card info, cause I said I was 17 and they would keep talking and talking and talking, wow they are eager for money. I say get real education and find a real job. The more you know the more you get paid. The more you beg and lie the less you get paid, its that simple, so please stop calling me.
