This was a legitimate call from the subscription department at the New York Times. My credit card number was recently stolen, so I had to cancel that card. I had forgotten that my NY Times subscription is automatically charged to my credit card, so I assume a payment didn't go through. The call I received had a terrible connection, and all I could hear was the word "credit card" before they gave up, but my phone showed the caller's number, so I Googled the number, found this Web site, and saw the comment that mentioned the NY Times. It's nice when a suspicious call turns out to be perfectly innocuous!
Got a call from this number...had my subscription cancelled I guess you could say. Actually I cancelled my credit card when my wallet was stolen last month. I guess thats why they're calling..
Just cancelled my NYT subscription Monday and got a call Tuesday. No one spoke so I googled it and wound up here. This is a really useful service, thanks
