Appears that a lot of people think it is a government freebie that is supposed to screen all calls, and stop the scammers' calls from getting through. These folks obviously did not read (or understand) all the words on the DNC signup page.
November 5th (the day after mid-term elections) might be a very interesting day, if something similar happens with voters. How many people actually understand the realities of the "promises" made by politicians of any party? Or, do they merely vote for the party who uses the fanciest bus to transport them to the polling places, and hands out the biggest cup of coffee?
(Something tells me there will be a "voting app" for smartphones in the next several years ... but the phones already are smarter than a fair number of the users, so maybe the middle man [the user] can be eliminated)
I'm on the state AND federal do not call lists. They don't do anything about the calls. Don even bother putting your name on the list. I think the telemarketers just call the people on the list to harass them.
Here's a good one for you.....this number called at least 5 times in the last 2 days. ID says Medical Assist. Then today, we get a call again where the ID says the same thing only it's OUR phone number showing up! Stupid idiotic fools spoofed our own home phone number. The hubby and I laughed so hard it hurt! We couldn't help ourselves. Then we got to wondering if the morons are gonna keep using our number. That could get dicey. Oh well.....life's a B and then you kick the bucket!
I got a call about free medical alert bracelet for the umteenth time this week. So I stayed on line waiting for live agent. James #115 answered. I asked him for company and phone number. He said he was from a FL call center for Senior Lifesavers, and refused to give me their telephone number. Well he lied, since 201 is a NJ area code. I told him to stop calling and he disconnected the line. @#$%
