The number calls , comes up unknown-doesnt say anything and hangs up after a minute. I dont have any debts or anything bad on my credit report/card. I suspect this has something to do with a scam I refused to fall for when an overseas company tried to make me pay on a payday loan that I had already paid off. I also got calls from a man speaking in another language, spanish I think. He understood what I was saying because after a few calls I told him it was funny because he couldnt hang up if I left the phone off the hook, he said no, no, no but I couldnt understand anything else he was saying.
If you answer in good faith, you can get talked in to accepting responsibility for an [imaginary] debt.
If you make a payment on that [imaginary] debt, you are demonstrating that you are taking responsibility for it. In doing so, you have just accepted responsibility for the whole [imaginary] debt.
Some sleazeball makes phoney phone calls, annoying people as he practices being rude and overbearing. And if he can talk 1 timid person out of 1000 people to pay back an imaginary debt, then he can keep his heroin addiction going.
If I get a call on my cellphone that's not in my address book, I don't answer it. If it's legit, they can leave a message, and I can add them to my phone book, and then call them back. And if they ever call back again, then they're in my phone book, my caller ID will tell me exactly who they are, and I'll be happy to answer.
I got rid of my landline because the only folks using it were telemarketer scammers and collection agency scammers.
Some things need less regulation. But some things need more.
Have received multiple calls in a single days. This seems to be a fraudulent company, according to snopes. I know snopes is not always accurate, but they have a fairly good reputation. Thus, I still
believe sunrocket to be fraudulent. Do NOT answer their phone calls, they have never heard of the
word NO. They have no comprehension what NO means.
This number is from Sunrise Credit Services. I am an AVON representative and money was a little tight this December so AVON was kind enough to send my little $100 balance off to a collections agency - Sunrise Credit Services. I have paid AVON and my account is in good standing, yet this agency keeps trying to collect the debt.
When you owe a company money, never EVER go through the collection agency as they will tack on additional fees and you'll find that you have to keep paying them money. Always pay through the company.
I can't wait until this company stops calling. They called on Christmas DAY for pete's sake...
I received a call from this number this morning. For some reason I answered it since it come up as a "Private Number" . They asked for some female by name which I had never heard of. When I told them they had the wrong number they hung up. After reading the comments here I will not answer a call from that number. I went through an identity theft a few years ago and dealing with legitimate collection agencies is bad enough without these bozos calling me.
