They have called me about 20 x in the last few days. I asked them to please stop calling and the man (Indian accent) yelled at me saying, "I will not stop calling you". Telling me I have been chosen for a free grant.
called me 5 times in succession and then when I answered, they stayed on for about 15 seconds and then hung up. I don't appreciate being mildly harassed. My number is an element of my privacy.
Immediately hang up and check the number out online. The best thing to do is not answer any number you don't recognize. About five ears ago I kept getting wrong number calls from Mexico- two or three every week or so. I found out later that Mexican scammers then turned around and used my phone number to make other international calls. I ended up with four or five international calls on my statement for a couple of months. Luckily, my phone company was familiar with the scam and removed the charges. Since then, I have all my known contacts IDd in my phone so their names always come up, and if I don't recognize the number- I don't answer. .
I already knew the people who called from this number were scammers. I listened to what they said and pretended like I would give them whatever they wanted, but just before I gave them my information, I hung up lol
Rec'd a call from 201-844-6474 it was a woman with a heavy accent. She was from "the United States Government" Department, I said "your a scam, dont call me again" she hung up
