Because you or somebody else registered your number there.

The do not call registry only works for legit companies, these people are criminals, they are out to swindle you, that's why.

A robocall from Automobile warranty SCAM - A search shows this number to be from Newark, New Jersey. A land line using Cablevision Lightpath Inc - NJ  with a spam score of 97%. They keep calling using a different new number after being told to remove my number from their call list.
It is definitely a scam.  When you call the number back, It does not ring - it goes directly to a recording that said "Goodbye".  Then, there were three beeps and the call disconnected.  They don't want anyone calling *them* because it's not a real business.

I don't answer unfamiliar numbers
