recieved a missed call this morning, called back and it said it was not in service - but a different mans voice than what you get if you actually dial a number that is not inservice. Almost like its an answering machine that they recorded on.
They called again and I answered. It was recarding my Pure Acai Berry purchase. I told them not to call me again and that thier product did not work!!!!
my phone has been ringing off the hook from this number. I picked up once and no one was there. It is very tiresome. Is there a way to block this number?
Hi-I am the one who wrote the original post about the acai berry-I worked in the mortgage industry for several years and this is the best advice:
1) carry your phone around and answer it on the first ring if possible-make sure you say hello loud and clear-these phone lines are auto dialed and triggered to be answered by the telemarketer after the sound of a phone call response
2)after you have someone on the line verify who they are calling on behalf of (ie. acai berry)and thier name
3) say-" I am requesting that you immediately remove me from your telephone solicitation list immediately and per the laws of the TCPA (thats "telephone consumer protection") act you are to NEVER call me again.
Hopefully this will help-there ARE laws that protect us from telemarketers.
Yeah, my mother in-law has been having phone calls from this number, MANY calls in the last two days. She answers and there's no one there. It seemed fishy to me, so I looked it up and found this thread. It's rather annoying, but I'm not sure what to do to stop it. What's also annoying is her phone is a cell phone, so it's not like the number is registered in the phone book or even entered in to a phone list anywhere, so no solicitors should be calling it.
