This is frighting, I have caller ID and have received the same Phone number calling every 15 mins. for 3 or more hours today Because of caller Id , I have not picked up on any of these calls as I did not recognize the Number. They have left no message. I registered again on the National Do Not Call List, and hope this ends these calls. I plan to call the National do Not Call registery tomorrow and talk with someone there. Because they have not left a message, I am not sure if it is a tele-marketer or worse. Your daughter was wise to tell you about the calls and not to answer any questions. It sounds like someone trying to find out info to use maybe ,for identy theft.
Do you know the number of the no call registry so I can call them as well and talk to someone live. I have had our phone # on the registry for years...I thought!
Update: my daughter indicated the caller sounded hispanic -with broken english dialect -so you are probably right about the mining for information.
I just typed in National Do Not Call List and the online web site (.gov.....a federal web site) came up. I thought I had registered years ago too. This web site has all sorts of information, including a phone number to call during working hours ,or you can fill out a form online. I decided to speak to a person ,I do better speaking to a "real" person,instead of trying to answer questions on-line. Good luck with your call, I hope we can both stop these calls.
I have received up to 13 calls in one day. my cell phone provider put a block that expires 5/26/09for this number but is not stopping the calls. My block has been on sincce last wednesday and it did work until Saturday. I'm going to contact the govt as everyone should
I am having the SAME problem with 201-918-4875. They call me EVERY morning very early and wake me up...then 3 more times every day. Today someone from that number called me asking for Tony....when I went OFF on him he hung me up. I told him to put me on the do not call list. I list every day with them to put me on their "do not call list." I have registered with the national DO NOT CALL registry and NOTHING has worked. WHAT can I do? Please e-mail me and let me know how to stop these [***]!
