Man wanted to follow up with an employee to whom he'd emailed an invitation. When I explained the person wasn't at this location, he said, "That's all right, I'll try back later," and hung up. Did he think that his intended target was simply out of the office at the moment? I doubt it, having received too many calls that followed this pattern. Company policy dictates that invitations must be sent via standard mail, but he didn't give me the chance to get to that part. Maybe I'll lead with that if he phones again. By the way, I tried returning the call and heard, "The number dialed is not in service," so it's been spoofed.
