They called company phone asked if this was Co. XYZ. Told him this was XYZ. (grumble) Well can I speak to 'Myles'? "Speaking" (grumble) More questions looking for the answer "yes" so he could paste that onto a recording asking if I wanted to buy something, I assume. I gave answers that were either "no" or anything but agreement. He got more disgruntled and then I cut it off as it is a risky game. What I don't understand is how or why a bank or credit card company would authorize payment from your account on the basis of a recorded call. More likely, the scammers would send an invoice and hope that some clerical staff would pay it. A different scam from the "we will fix your computer" but still a scam.
This call came within minutes, of me inquiring how to get rid of scammers off my e-mail permanently on my computer.to a Microsoft site. Nothing is safe anymore. Going to dump everything Microsoft and go with apple. Microsoft has to much malicious malware to dare put any information.
Like all the others I was told he was from Microsoft and my computer was sending out signals,I said signals and he said listen I 'm calling about your computer so I messed with him for a while and told him my husband was chief of police and he would like to speak with he said yes I'll speak to the police and he hung up...All this was with a heavy accent..
