I recent got a new phone number. I have had dozens of calls from 202 000 1234, 6 today. I tried calling the number back. After a couple rings I get a recording saying the call cannot be completed as dialed. It's a fake number.
Your new number is someone else's old number. They probably changed their number to get rid of this pest.
Your phone company might be be able to block the calls. Ask them how. Or, if they are calling your cell, put the number in your contacts list and assign it the ring tone "no ring". That won't stop the calls but it will make them easier to ignore.
Which is fine if you have a cell they are calling, but for a land line, you can buy a call blocking device under 60 over on amazon.. There's call blocking phones as well out also both cell and land line. Its also wise to report the calls..
