These folks have called daily for a while now. They are up to no good that's for sure. Here are just a few of the stories: 1) You have been awarded a grant. 2) This is tech support we are receiving errors coming from your computer. 3) DO you have diabetes.
Most international scammers spoof Washington DC area codes (202). These folks aren't very convincing; I told them we had a bad connection and I would call back after the course of several days I actually got them to give me callback number. It was a cell phone number in India (probably a fake one or a pre-paid phone).
They change their (spoofed) phone number every so often. Next to impossible to do anything to these guys given the fake numbers and that they are overseas.
Blocking is the best option, adding the additional numbers as they change them.
I received a call from number 202-020-2020 who claimed they were from Navient. This happens many times during the day. The other number is 678-365-0480 They ask for the social and then I hang up. Do I file a complaint with the Attorney General, or whom. How are they getting this information? Navient must have a leak.
