Called back using caller ID block. Shysters are harvesting active phone numbers...mine comes up as "Unavailable" on their caller ID, so my call is auto-directed to their "trash bin" line that plays the canned-recording "This number you dialed is not in service". When I hang up and dial back immediately, I get a busy signal because their trash-bin line hasn't reset.
Rec'd call from 1-202-208-2414 (was a missed call on land line caller id) the caller was "Washington DC". No message was left on our automated computer voice ans machine (again) Will not call to tell them to stop, as it only frustrates me but more importantly, lets them know it's a working number. In addition, if you tell them to "stop" they sell your number to another A-hole and their fun continues. Best to have a blocker (which I obviously don't at this time) or if you can get the 1st ring, press answer button then immediately press disconnect button. This seems to slow the a-holes down somewhat. Wonder if they get their rocks off reading these comments and therefore perfecting their sleaze scams.
