Got a call from several different numbers and states with same message. Last number was 202-239-0068. These scammers are obiously pulling peoples resume information from job sights like Indeed, Theladder.com or even Dice.com. I only started using all three with in the last two months and these calls started coming in at least 3X a week.
just got a call from Agent Robin claiming serious IRS allegations against me, quoted details that can only have come from my resumé as I am out of work and have submitted my resumé to several recruitment sites and EDD recruitment site.
IRS use USMail for first contact on any issue so absolutely this is a scam , cant wait for him to call again to find where he got my info:) dont expect he will volunteer that but will be fun trying.
I feel bad for any of the elder generation who may be intimidated into complying with these scum.
Will forward any info to the IRS fraud unit and the VOIP supplier in the hope that this phone line at least can be shut down.
I got a letter from IRS and i call the number on the letter i:e 202 239 0068 and the IRS officer helped me lot because i have'nt filled my tax of 2013 , thanks Tom Copper (councilor)
Same story some guy (who can barely speak broken English) called me, caller was from India although number showed was US, it’s really easy to call from any country these days and pretend you are in US, caller tried to portray himself as IRS office and mentioned some pending case against me, immediately after this call I received a call showing on the caller ID as +911, this time the guy claimed he was a police officer and wanted to know the trouble I am in with IRS. These guys were horrible with their statement but some of them can be good.
I called Police station to report this, but was told the best way is not to share information with them as it’s hard to trace and track these fraudsters.
