Got a call from 202-239-0143 saying he was the IRS and I had a tax issue, Gave case number and said I should settle it before legal action was taken against me. Glad this site was here!!! Caller had strong Indian accent, barely understandable.
I just received a call from a John Ryan from the IRS saying that I had a case # and if I didn't respond within 24 hours I would be taken into custody by the local police!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A Mr.Robin Wilson called & asked to speak with my husband I asked to take a message & he gave me this # to have my husband call him back it was urgent.The thing that struck me is he called my husband by a name that only the family calls him not by his proper name.And also his name being Robin Wilson & he sounded Indian.
I just got a similar call from the "IRS". I figured out the best way to handle these scammers. I called them back 186 times until the either changed their number or disconnected it. I know this sounds a little extreme but I just thought someone should harass them just as much as they do to others.
Some thing needs to be done about these people.!!!!! Several calls today alone. Claiming to be from the IRS & that I owe back taxes. A scam for sure. Put their number on call block.
