I keep getting phone calls from this number also from 605-440-3260 stating that If I do not pay over $6000 right now over the phone the cops will be at my door in 20 minutes. I told them to send the law . I was told all this was a SCAM and I reported it to the law & my phone company. I was told it was in the paper and on the news and to just hang up on them . But this is getting to the point it's pissing me off big time. I can't get them from not calling me . I know the whistle thing and all but its not stopping the phone calls. First it was coming up wireless caller now its coming up the IRS. Besides paying $6 a month to block one caller what to do ?????
Called at 7:45am this morning. Left msg that a lawsuit had been filed for fraud by the IRS against me and I should call them right away. Caller ID was "Internal Revenue Service". Now blocked. This is a SCAM!!! The IRS will NEVER call you. If they have a problem with your taxes, they will always make initial contact with you by U.S. Mail.
Whoops! I made a misstatement. The IRS will NEVER call you. They will ALWAYS officially contact you only by U.S. mail (sometimes registered/return receipt requested, depending on the circumstances). Sorry!
recieved call from them. didn't answer the phone. they left a VM saying that they were issuing a warrant for my arrest. i called them back. i asked what it was about and was told that i owed the irs 3,400 dollars because they did an audit of my taxes. I kept hearing background noises. so i hung up. I called the IRS MYSELF at 1800-829-1040 and spoke to someone. They looked up my information and told me that I did not owe anything and when i told them what happened they told me to report it. The IRS will never call you or harrass you.
