We also received a phone call from this number with bogus threats from the IRS and a lawsuit against us. After Investigating it online we found it to be a scam. Please continue to inform the public.

The last 3 days I have received threating phone calls from several numbers used by same person saying he is Steve Martin with heavy indian accent its really becoming a problem with him and wish he would be caught. The other number he Is using are 1-951-402-5832 and 1-624-256-5948. He keeps telling that there is a bench warrant out for me because I filled fraudulent taxes and he would never tell who he was wanting to speak with I refused to give him any information he became very rude and angry he told to get the bench warrant stopped I had to pay him 2000.00 dollars and I told he was not going to scare me into giving him any money and when I started questing him he demanded to speak with my husband when I refused to let him speak to my husband he started to get madder and told me if I hang up the phone the police would be at my door to pick me up I told let them come I would welcome them in and the calls didn't stop there he has called my number with different number the last 3 days and its getting to be annoying.

I received a call from this number and pretty much thought it wasn't above board as they said it was the IRS and it was about a lawsuit.  I did call it back since I am currently redoing my taxes for 2012 due to some investment miscalculations but they actually owe me $$. I pretty much know that the IRS has a 877 or 888 # and this was a 202 do my radar went up right away. When they answered, they asked me what my phone number was. It took me 4 - 5 times for me to get them to understand it.  Right away I asked, what is this all about and why do you need my phone number, and the line went dead.  I tried to call back and it was a fast busy.  I knew to not give them any additional info and thought was safe to give land line #.  I do hope that is the case.

I received a call and voice mail from a 721 area code number. I do not pick up such calls. The voice mail was a recorded voice and clearly not legit, claiming to be the IRS and that it was my final notice that they were going to sue me. Told me to call the 202-239-2087 number for more info on my case (no case number given). I would not call either number back as it will just increase the calls. Reported to the Treasury. Scam all the way.
