I got same call from them and have very similar content that they will file a lawsuit against me because I own their money. I even told them my home address. When I asked what's wrong with my files? They said the w2 number I filed is not what they have. I said it is impossible, can they provide me original files they hung up. Be aware!!! Do give them any information!!!
Voice message on my phone stating I was named in a law suit and to call immediately. Tele number 202-239-5998
I called and a heavily accented ('Pakistani type) voice identified himself as "Mike Walker" with IRS fraud investigations. WHen I confronted him he hung up. I immediately called back and got a voice message identifying it as "IRS investigations" and left a different call back number with a 415 area code.
Report both numbers to the IRS, FTC, & FCC. I've had a little luck reporting these robo calls to the FCC. But i think the best thing is that i have started recording music with poor sound qualilty and let my friends and family know that they have about a two miniute wait before they can leave a message!!! This is to torment them back!
They are getting slicker! The message left this time was from a woman without an accent DEMANDING a return phone call due to the IRS filing criminal charges against me. Always share with our seniors as they tend to freak-out and get caught up in the scam.
